December 18, 2025 — The NCVEC recently released a future Technician class question pool, to be used for all exams administered on or after July 1, 2026.  We plan to have the future question pool and updated Technician course available online by May 1, two months before the effective date.  All active Technician course subscriptions will automatically include both the old and new question pools, and students will be able to switch freely between them. Note: If you follow our study advice and average at least 1 hour per day in Study mode, you should be ready to pass the Technician exam within approximately 10 days, so you have plenty of time to pass the current Technician exam long before the changeover!   July 1, 2024 — The new Extra class question pool is now in effect for all exam sessions, and we have removed the obsolete pool from the website.   July 1, 2023 — The new General class question pool is now in effect for all exam sessions, and we have removed the obsolete pool from the website.   February 23, 2007 — Morse code is no longer required for any class of U.S. ham radio license.
