Here's what people are saying:

  • “I took the Extra exam today (4/8/06) and passed it with a 92%.  During the exam, the answers just leaped off the page at me.  It was terrific.  You have a dedicated fan, and I will sing your praises to all who ask me about what works and what doesn't.  Thanks so much for a fine program.  It was easy to use, and the automatic repetition in the trouble areas eventually made it sink in.  Repetition is the key.  It definitely works.  In addition to learning the answers to the question pool, I also learned a lot about my hobby and the technical aspects of the hobby.” — Sidney, KCØOSB/AE
  • “I passed the Tech exam on Jan.14,2007.  I missed one question on the exam.  I wish I had found this web site before I got Ham University's program.  I found HamTestOnline very user friendly.”

***UPDATE***: “I just passed my Extra class as of Jan 20 2008 with a score of 96%.  I usually freeze-up when I take tests, but HamTestOnline really helped.” — KD8EZG, Russ
  • “Passed my Extra in early April.  HamTestOnline was a big help in learning theory, not just memorizing answers.  The reminders are very helpful, ‘shamed’ me into overcoming my tendency to procrastinate!  Now working to get my CW back up to par.” — Frank, AA4AE (formerly KA4AQN)
  • “Down to the wire on study time, so on Thursday night (General Test scheduled on Saturday), decided to look around for a better study aid.  Via Google found your site and decided I better take a shot or else be embarrassed around my new found Ham buddies when I blew the General test.  Crammed all day Friday using HamTestOnline.com, woke up at 5am Sat for a little refresher and Aced the test at 9:30 am.  I am now back in to HamTestOnline.com for some more leisurely review of General topics plus Extra down the road.  Couldn't have done it without you.” — Bruce, KJ4BYT
  • “I took the Extra class license test this past Monday and passed with a 90 percent grade 4 wrong.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  So close another success story” — Bob, KG4VDU.
  • “I was first licensed in 1961 with the call WA6PEL.  I subscribed to HamTestOnline on 12/9/09, and surprised myself on how quickly I was able to learn the material.  The way you present it and repeat the questions in my weak areas was just what I needed.  So now, almost 49 years later, and with only 2 weeks of study with your program, I passed the Extra Exam on 12/26/09.” — Bob, WA6PEL
  • KJ4DPW “Like to thank you for such a great web site for Ham testing.  I passed both my Tech. and Gen.today, and I know that it was the time I spent studying and testing my self on your site.  Time to start studying for Extra.” — Capt Jerry, KJ4DPW
  • “Less than 19 study hours and passed Extra Exam on 02/18/06” — CJ, W7CJW
  • “Passed the extra exam with a 96% on the first try... a great system.  I especially liked the repeat questions in the weak or incorrect responses on the practice tests.” — Bob, K4KUB.
  • “I took the Extra exam last Saturday, the 15th of January and passed!! The use of your product was indeed beneficial.  After 35 years as an Advanced class, finally the Extra.  See you on the low ends of the bands!!  73,”  — Roger, WA7BOC
  • “I earned my Technician on 12/01/07.  I earned my General in January 2008.  On March 1st I took the Extra class exam and am proud to say I PASSED and am now an EXTRA.  I couldn't have earned my Ham ticket without you.” — Michael, KE5RSI
  • “I passed the Extra test on Saturday, July 9, 2005. The VEs did not tell me my score, but I know I got 100%  -due to your program.” — Jack, KD5UVF
  • “Previously passed my General exam and today (8-17-08) I passed my Extra exam.  Thanks for the help HamTestOnline.” — Chris, KC0IPD
  • “Well, I passed my General exam and will do my code exam next month.  I’d have taken it today, but my hearing aid died!  Starting my Extra studies today and plan to take the test before year’s end.  Great way to study and really learn the material, not just the answers for the test questions.  I’ll let you know when my general upgrade is complete.  Keep up the good work!” — 73’s, KD8CIL, Joe
  • “I passed my element 3 exam on the first try!

I can't even begin to say how helpful HamTestOnline was in studying for the test. I took the route of basically memorizing the questions, I did not buy any books to explain the theory, but I did study using a book for my Technician license back in 1992, so I was familiar with the basic electrical components and antenna designs mentioned in the the questions. HamTestOnline lets you select which test pool (Technician, General, Extra) you want to study and further it allows you to select subsections as well. I was having a heck of a time memorizing the privileges on each band and the band plans, so I just turned off those parts.  I basically didn’t study them at all.  On my test there was only question from this section and I just skipped it.

The element 3 (General written) test is multiple choice, 35 questions and you need to get 26 right in order to pass. I don’t know how many I missed, but there were 6 questions I wasn’t 99.99% sure about including the one I skipped, so I had a buffer of 3 more I could miss. If you decided to use HamTestOnline as a comparison, I got to a 76% rate on the New General questions and an overall ranking of 87.  My total hours was 12:19. I’m not sure sure how they calculate that to be honest.

Finally, you can definitely do this there’s no reason to pay for SSB when you can easily get your HAM license! While it may be sacrilegious to say this, you don’t need to be an electronics guru or a ham radio wonk to use the Nets and mail programs like WinLink. What you do need to do is jump through the hoops (license) and then get someone to help you get setup (aka the place you’re going to buy your radio from!)”
