“I took the Extra exam today (4/8/06) and passed it with a 92%. During the exam, the answers just leaped off the page at me. It was terrific. You have a dedicated fan, and I will sing your praises to all who ask me about what works and what doesn't. Thanks so much for a fine program. It was easy to use, and the automatic repetition in the trouble areas eventually made it sink in. Repetition is the key. It definitely works. In addition to learning the answers to the question pool, I also learned a lot about my hobby and the technical aspects of the hobby.” — Sidney, KCØOSB/AE
“Thanks to your intuitive program with it's ability to remember my areas of weakness, I passed my Technician examination today in Phoenix, AZ. I scored 35 out of 35, 100% correct. I used my study time as efficiently as possible with your help. Now on to the General category!!!” — Fred (awaiting callsign)
“Passed Element 3 in January and Element 4 today 2/24. Couldn't have done it without HamTestOnline. HamTestOnline is the best thing that could happen to ‘Hams that yearn to learn’.” — Les, KC9HLS
“Don’t like the program because it made it too easy to pass my Extra exam! Oh, I guess that is a good thing - THANKS A BUNCH!” — 73’s Steve, N6YIH, now an EXTRA class
“Like to thank you for such a great web site for Ham testing. I passed both my Tech. and Gen.today, and I know that it was the time I spent studying and testing my self on your site. Time to start studying for Extra.” — Capt Jerry, KJ4DPW
“I got my EXTRA license in November.” — Jim, AJ4DJ
“Hello! Had I known more about your site as I was studying for my other Ham tests, I surely would have visited more often. However, I only learned about it while studying for my Extra. My results were much like that predicted by taking that test on your site. I only missed 2 questions. My test was Tuesday, 3/19. I will be sure to pass your site along to other hams as they study for their upgrades.” — 73, Jeffrey, KI4NDR
“With the help of your course, I have obtained my Canadian Advanced Certificate. I would recommend this course to anyone who is going for a ham ticket.” — 73 de Harvey, VA3HBD
“Thanks for the help in securing my [Canadian] Advanced license. I sat for the exam 04/17/2008 (last night) and walked away with a 74 percent. Your site was instrumental in this. Funds well spent, would recommend to everyone.” — Alex, VA7AYE
“I want to thank HamTestOnline for your support and help towards my ham license. I took the General test on 24 Feb and passed it.” — Bob, KI4SIS/AG
“I'm really enjoying HamTestOnline. The links and illustrations clarify the concepts beyond just studying for the test. It's a great companion to the ARRL Extra Class License Manual, and it runs perfectly on my Macintosh.” — Michael, KI6BWH
“I passed my Extra test last Saturday. I did use HamTestOnline to study and found it to be very helpful.” — Larry, WA2SRY
“Previously passed my General exam and today (8-17-08) I passed my Extra exam. Thanks for the help HamTestOnline.” — Chris, KC0IPD
“I passed my element 3 exam on the first try!
I can't even begin to say how helpful HamTestOnline was in studying for the test. I took the route of basically memorizing the questions, I did not buy any books to explain the theory, but I did study using a book for my Technician license back in 1992, so I was familiar with the basic electrical components and antenna designs mentioned in the the questions. HamTestOnline lets you select which test pool (Technician, General, Extra) you want to study and further it allows you to select subsections as well. I was having a heck of a time memorizing the privileges on each band and the band plans, so I just turned off those parts. I basically didn’t study them at all. On my test there was only question from this section and I just skipped it.
The element 3 (General written) test is multiple choice, 35 questions and you need to get 26 right in order to pass. I don’t know how many I missed, but there were 6 questions I wasn’t 99.99% sure about including the one I skipped, so I had a buffer of 3 more I could miss. If you decided to use HamTestOnline as a comparison, I got to a 76% rate on the New General questions and an overall ranking of 87. My total hours was 12:19. I’m not sure sure how they calculate that to be honest.
Finally, you can definitely do this there’s no reason to pay for SSB when you can easily get your HAM license! While it may be sacrilegious to say this, you don’t need to be an electronics guru or a ham radio wonk to use the Nets and mail programs like WinLink. What you do need to do is jump through the hoops (license) and then get someone to help you get setup (aka the place you’re going to buy your radio from!)”

“Great site! Purchased a subscription in March to prepare for my Technician. Being a former US Navy Radar technician, theory wasn't a problem — just the peculiars of amateur radio. I was very pleased with the manner of delivery and questions. When I tested in April, I didn't have a single problem. When I tested for General this month (September), passed as well. Now using the website to study for my Extra class. Good job!” — Rene, KB3JLZ
